The Latest: HOLY COW!!!
Wow! Light. Fast. Fluffy. Whether you are still skiing, have finished for the day, or have no chance of making it out, you still have to call the Snow Phone (530.583.6955x1) and listen to the storm total. It started yesterday, by the way, so this is the amount of snow on everything but KT (which was open during the storm): 26". Tahoe City got about 4". Carnelian Bay got 2". Squaw got crushed!!!
I heard numerous people say that this is the lightest they've seen all year and I have to agree. It came in cold and dry then got blown around a bit so it's deep yet dense and therefore nice and fast. The sun is mostly out with some pretty clouds passing through and there's a very light, wintery breathe of air. It's what some of us like to call a "4-Alarm Powder Day!"
Everything opened at once so it was a really fun start. And classic Squaw - everyone got spread out so I didn't wait in a single lift line all morning. Great times!!!
